Football Finals X UP Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Things that are popular tend to make good themes for slot machines, and Football Finals X UP is one such example. Football-themed, it caters to fans of one of the most popular sports in the world. It was designed by Alchemy Gaming, as an exclusive to Games Global’s platform (ex-Microgaming). The X Up mechanic is also found in other slots that the two released together, like Africa X UP, Chronicles of Olympus X Up, etc.
The usual 5 reels are in use while playing Football Finals X UP, but you get quite a few chances to win thanks to the 243 ways/lines present there. I like the combination of a big prize, 10,000x the stake, and the medium volatility advertised in this case. The RTP of 96.22% is the highest one possible, but several lower ones are also available. A few big features are present, mainly the free spins and multipliers of up to 10x, and the expanding wilds.
Football Finals X UP Betting and Prizes
You get full control over the wager, but only within the given range of $0.10 to $20.
A really good round could pay up to 10,000x the stake in this slot, which is excellent. A 96.22% RTP is the top value listed in its range, and the volatility will be medium.
Slot Features
In addition to its ability to act as a substitute, the wild symbol is also going to pay directly when possible. A combo of five Trophy Wilds pays 4.5x the bet, which is the most that you can claim before other features get involved. This is also an expanding wild, so it contributes to a lot of wins when the right symbols are present on other reels.
Whenever you get just two of the three possible scatters, the game gives you an X Up token, used to boost a multiplier by 1x. It’s only useful if you get three scatters at some point, to trigger 8 free spins. You can use the Upsizer option to boost the multiplier by investing extra cash, or you can just rely on the multiplier you’ve collected up to that point. Up to 10x multipliers are available inside. The value can be boosted further if you get other sets of two scatters.
Theme & Design
The 2022 World Cup from Qatar appears to be the inspiration here. There are players, fans, and footballs among its main symbols, and then there are also the less relevant symbols with Royals made out of the green pitch.
Conclusion
Football Finals X UP proposes a pretty interesting mix of features, with a level-up mechanic that keeps you playing, as you can see that the upcoming free spins will get higher odds of delivering big wins. The sports theme is also nice if you love football already.
