It’s available via Alchemy Gaming, an independent studio with which the company collaborates, one of many. It’s obvious that we’re looking at an Africa-themed design, and the reels and background image are filled with appropriate images, of the savanna, the tribal people of the region, and some of its wildlife.
Africa X Up is highly volatile, which is how it’s capable of paying so well, up to 30,000x the stake being promised for a single round. At the same time, we found that it has a 96.37% RTP, which is good, and that the list of features will include expanding wilds, free spins with multipliers, and a scatter collection feature. It’s also a slot machine with 5x3 reels, which supports 243 ways to win.

Slot Features
A very interesting-looking wild symbol, featuring a W logo of sorts, against an African-style design, will be used for the slot’s substitute. It’s an expanding wild as well, so you get your chance to see it fully, as it’s covering entire reels and contributes to all winning combinations that are formed. It can even pay together with other wilds, giving you 50x the stake for a full combo of five.
You will find that an X UP logo can show up on the reels, a scatter symbol that you’re going to collect when there are only one or two. It works together with the multiplier ladder from the left side of the screen, taking it up a level each time that you get a symbol. Eventually, you could get to a 25x multiplier, to use for the upcoming free spins feature.
The level of the multiplier is tied into the current wager level, so if you’re forced to reduce it for some reason, you will have to start over (the game remembers where you left off though, if you come back to that bet level in the future).
Eventually, you will get three of these X UP scatters on the reels at the same time. At that point, the game gives you 8 free spins, where you use the multiplier that you’ve accumulated. Once you get inside, the feature retriggers with 2 or more scatters. This gets you 2 extra spins and a boost to the multiplier.
Theme & Design
It’s a theme that they’ve dedicated to Africa, but it’s a better looking option than most that we’ve seen in this category. With modern graphics, and a view of the savanna in the background, much of the focus is on the warriors of the local tribes (male and female), or on some of the local wild animals (elephants, rhinos, buffalo). Eventually, you will notice the five Royals as well, 10 to A and featuring various objects next to them.
Conclusion
Africa X Up is a great game to try out, and while it might prove punishing for a lot of players, there are some that will walk away with a big jackpot from it.
