Wild Wild Romance Slot Machine: Review & Demo

Wild Wild Romance is the sort of slot machine that should be appealing to a lot of different players. Not only is this a Wild West themed game, but there is romance in it as well, and it’s just an overall decent one to look at. This particular release is coming via Aurum Signature Studios, and it will be a Microgaming title once it gets past its initial exclusivity period.

243 ways to win are available on 5x3 reels. It’s a type of setup that we’ve seen often in the last couple of years, and the reason is that it can be incredibly effective and fun. As you will find out, Wild Wild Romance can deliver prizes of up to 12,000x the stake ($234,000), using both regular combinations and several types of multipliers. You get four types of free spins, each one with different modifiers, along with multiplier wilds and wild reels.

Wild Wild Romance Slot Betting and Prizes

$0.30 is the smallest bet that the slot allows you to use so that each of the 30 coins is worth at least $0.01. If you increase the coin value, you could spend up to $19.50 on each round ($0.65 coins).

$234,000 is the absolute best top prize that Wild Wild Romance can pay in a single spin. That’s if you can hit the maximum return, of 12,000x the stake.

This is marked as a highly volatile game, but as the RTP is set to 96.86%, it’s still a fine option for a lot of experienced players.

Features

Showing the image of a pair of crossed revolvers, the game’s multiplier wild is going to assist players in a couple of ways. Ideally, you’d want it forming combinations with other wilds, since they pay up to 50x the stake on each fully covered line. Even if they can’t help in that way, as substitutes they also apply 2x multipliers, so the regular wins are doubled.

Another excellent way to get wilds on the reels is through the randomly triggered Wild Showdown. Up to 5 wild reels are placed in the game area, and this could even lead to the top jackpot since you could form combinations on 243 ways to win (50x the stake each).

Most will be longing for the free spins feature though, since there are even better multipliers inside. Triggered through 3 to 5 scatter symbols (bonus logo and image of the sheriff’s badge), there are several types of free spins that you can get, but most will require that you gain access to this feature several times before you can pick them. Up to 200x the stake is also paid, if you get enough scatters on the reels.

• 1st trigger gives you 10 free spins, where all wins get a 5x multiplier applied.
• 5th trigger adds the option of 15 free spins that get Wild Tumbles (randomly transform regular symbols into 2x/3x multiplier wilds, which can boost wins by 6x together).
• 10th trigger of the free spins will unlock for you the version with 20 free spins and Rolling Reels. Multipliers go from 2x to 5x, as you go through consecutive rolls.
• 15th trigger adds the option of 25 free spins. They come with a 3rd reel Wild Lasso, which turns regular symbols into wilds, at random.

Theme & Design

Wild Wild Romance doesn’t deliver some new theme, there is nothing too unique about its story or design, but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to be appealing. With a love story added to the popular Wild West genre, we’re seeing half of the main characters as males and half females.

First, a word about the feature symbols, where the wild shows a couple of revolvers, while the scatter relies on the sheriff’s badge. Next, we have the premium symbols, ranging from the Sheriff and the Bandit to the Deputy and the Saloon Girl. We continue with the Safe, the Gold Bars, and then with six Royals (Nine to Ace).

Conclusion

Wild Wild Romance is not a bad Microgaming slot, and there are a number of pros and cons to it. I like the RTP and the rewards, and having so many potential features to explore could keep you busy for some time. The fact that you need to spend a lot of time before you can unlock all the free spins variants, is among the downsides.
