Silver Seas Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Once more, we’re enjoying an excellent slot from Gold Coin Studios, and it’s all thanks to their partnership with Microgaming, that their releases are hitting the market so quickly. While you might not be surprised at a pirate-themed game, I think that you will appreciate its focus on silver and dark blue colors, rather than the usual gold coins which we see everywhere else.
They went with a regular mix of lines (20) and reels (5x3). Via free spins with 3x multipliers, wilds, or jackpot scatters, the game keeps the RTP at 96.24% and it could deliver top prizes of up to 2,000x the stake ($240,000).
Silver Seas Betting and Prizes
Silver Seas has a betting range of $0.02 to $120. It’s going to be played with up to 20 active lines, with line bets of up to $6 being used.
As for the top prize, it’s going to come your way in a couple of ways. The 3x multipliers from the free spins can have a big impact on your gaming session, but there is also a more direct way to get there, via scatters which pay 2,000x the stake when landing enough times.
A good game doesn’t just pay well, it also has a proper volatility and an above average RTP, and Silver Seas does that. It’s a slot with medium volatility, which has a 96.24% RTP.
Slot Features
One of the three feature symbols that Silver Seas relies on, the Ship’s Wheel serves as the wild. Landing on all reels, it can be used as part of new winning combinations. Its ability to act as a replacement symbol, gives it the power to help form any type of symbol. It doesn’t get the power to replace the feature scatters though.
Silver Coins, showing a pirate’s skull on them, will be scatters that you can get several times on each reel. You need a minimum of 3, in order to get a prize from the meter that is displayed on the left side. Only 1x the stake is returned to you, if you get the minimum number, but as the meter shows, the prizes go up quickly. Get all 9 required Silver Coins, and the prize you get is worth 2,000x the round’s stake.
Finally, you get a second scatter which shows the image of a Pirate Ship, with the FS logo displayed on its sails. That FS stands for Free Spins, and so you get this feature when there are 3 scatters visible on the reels. A wheel will spin first, and reveal up to 30 free games for you to use, along with a potential multiplier of 3x (not guaranteed). If you get more scatters, the free spins will be retriggered.
Theme & Design
Silver Seas keeps the common pirate theme that’s been proven to be so popular with players over the years, but it adds something extra, a focus on treasures of silver, rather than gold. The blue tint that they went with is not exactly silver-like, but it seems to work well for it. It’s a good looking slot, which has a selection of symbols ranging from card suits, to cannons, bottles of booze, or crossed swords. Features come through Pirate Ships, Silver Coins and the Ship’s Wheel.
Conclusion
I think that you will find Silver Seas to be a good-looking slot machine, with pretty good rewards and features that work, even though they’re not unique to it. Overall, a pretty good slot machine, but we’ve definitely seen better.
