Rhino Rilla Rex Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Rhino Rilla Rex will soon be released at Microgaming’s casino sites, and it’s going to be an exclusive release from Crazy Tooth Studios. This slot machine is obviously going to have some of its inspiration coming from dinosaurs, but there are also gorillas and rhinos present among its main characters (each creature borrows its nickname from the title).
5x5 reels spin in Rhino Rilla Rex, and they use a system called Any Adjacent Pays, with a total of 3,125 ways to win. This slot machine is capable of paying at most 5,000x the stake, it has high volatility, while its best RTP is 96.20%. The Team Up features, special progressive prizes, and its wilds, are the main ways in which it makes the action more interesting.
Rhino Rilla Rex Betting and Prizes
Selecting the wager should be the first thing to do before you spin the reels for the first time. The range that the slot is working with should prove accessible to a lot of players. Options begin at the $0.25 minimum and could rise up to $12.50.
The 5,000x jackpot of Rhino Rilla Rex might not prove as motivating to a modern player, as it might’ve been to someone giving this slot a try just a few years ago. High volatility games, like this one, were not as common back then, and the payouts didn’t reach the same impressive levels as we see these days. Still, as far as jackpots go, it’s not a bad one.
When you’re trying a slot machine with an RTP range, it’s a good idea to shop around for a version of it that looks good. The highest RTP of Rhino Rilla Rex is 96.20%, and that’s the level I’d recommend you go for. Skip casinos that use a smaller setting.
Slot Features
Rhino Rilla Rex has ways to win system. It’s called Any Adjacent Pays though, requiring symbols to be adjacent in order to form winning combinations, and so it feels inferior to the usual ways to win that will use any symbols as long as they’re the same and on adjacent reels.
There are four meters shown on the left side of the game area. The first three are associated with the different beasts, while the fourth combines all of them. Each one has a different progressive prize associated with it. It gets a boost whenever a stacked Beast of that type lands fully visible. To claim it, you need to collect Tokens from the Team Up features (see below). Between 5 and 8 tokens are needed, depending on the prize.
The substitute, or the wild if you will, is going to help out whenever it lands on the 1st and 5th reels. Either way, it can replace regular symbols, and it can be part of new combinations.
The top-paying symbols are stacked, and they will sometimes land fully visible. If you can do that, and form winning combinations with them, then they will Team Up in a special feature. You get a new game area, filled with special symbols (tokens, prizes, and multipliers). At the end of a single spin, you collect prizes and you boost them with available multipliers.
Sometimes, the beasts can appear with golden frames around them. If one of these special beasts shows up, along with 2 other beast symbols, you’re going to trigger the Team Up Spins. It plays much like the Team Up bonus, but you can also get additional spins along the way.
Theme & Design
It’s a darker design, both on and off the reels. I’m not a big fan of its graphics, but at least they managed to create a unique theme for this slot machine. We’re seeing a jungle of sorts, where we find creatures that don’t belong together usually. Rhino, Rilla (the gorilla), and Rex (T-Rex dinosaur) are the three main characters, and stacked symbols that can occupy up to 2, 3, or 4 positions, respectively. The rest of the symbols are looking like gemstones colored in blue, green, red, or pink.
Conclusion
Rhino Rilla Rex could prove interesting, but it’s not going to scratch that itch for you if you love a huge top jackpot to go with a slot’s high volatility.
