Magical Reels Slot Machine: Review & Demo

Magical Reels Slot Demo

Northern Lights Gaming, together with Microgaming, is giving us one more excellent online slot. It’s called Magical Reels, has a bit of fantasy to it since there is magic involved, and its unique angle relies on its features and the big rewards that could be paid inside.

You’re going to form up to 20 winning combinations while using the 5x4 reels deployed in the game area. A plus for this game comes from the rewards that can be paid, with the upper limit going to 11,750x the stake apparently. The downside is that the slot’s volatility is high, but at least we’re satisfied with the RTP, at 96.15%. Keep an eye out for the features offered inside, as those include only a few powerful options (Book scatters, special symbol meters, symbol multipliers, and free spins).

Magical Reels Betting and Prizes

The starting point for the slot machine’s wagers is $0.20, while the maximum amount that could be used reaches the $20 point.

I think that you’re going to be very happy about the top jackpot of Magical Reels. Due to the slot’s high volatility, it’s obvious that not a lot of players will feel happy at the end of an individual playing session though. Some could win up to 11,750x the round’s stake, and that could be enough to give them a good reason to try the game anyway.

Though you might not feel it yourself, the long-term RTP of Magical Reels is 96.15%, and so most would consider it a fair option.

Slot Features

Some of the features that you’re used to might be missing from Magical Reels, and I’m thinking of the wilds in particular.

The only feature symbols that you get, are the Spell Book scatters, which could show up once on each of the 5 reels. When they do, these Books open up, and will each reveal 1 to 3 Stars, along with a 1x multiplier boost. Both the Stars and the multipliers are added to a random Award Board from the left side.

There are Award Boards present for all regular symbols. Five empty spots are present in each one. If you manage to get 5 Stars in a single meter, you will trigger the free spins. The game removes the triggering symbol, and then any others that manage to fill up their meters along the way (while also giving you 2 more free spins each time this happens).

Wondering about those multipliers that the meters are accumulating from each Book? The 2x and higher multipliers are used to improve wins for the symbols they’re associated with. They didn’t place any caps on the multiplier size, so the sky’s the limit.

Theme & Design

A wizard’s laboratory is going to be the backdrop for the action in Magical Reels. I’m not quite sure if it’s a practitioner of the white or black arts, mostly because we see a pentagram drawn with blood on the ground. Various other objects that belong in a wizard’s lair are also present around.

Every single symbol used in this case looks like it works well for the magic theme. Four of the symbols give us images of potion bottles, while others show leaves, toadstools, or blueberries. The Spell Book is the scatter, and the only feature symbol.

Conclusion

Magical Reels looks pretty good, has an interesting main feature, and it’s the type that can also pay very well. Those should be plenty of good reasons to want to give it a try.
