Links of Fire Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Slingshot Studios and Microgaming, these two developers have released quite a few slot machines together in the last couple of years, and the latest title they have together is called Links of Fire. It’s the former that does most of the work on these slots, while Microgaming is just the one that powers them on their platform, and guarantees them access to hundreds of popular online casinos. For Links of Fire, they went with a tried and tested recipe, where a classic theme is used alongside a mix of modern features.
Links of Fire will have the usual 5 reels, and on them, you will discover 40 win lines. It’s capable of paying extremely well, and a $500,000 payout is not out of the question, which is excellent since it would mean a 25,000x the stake jackpot. With the 96.20% RTP, also comes a High volatility rating. If you check out the big features, I think you’re going to be satisfied with them, as they include Power Stacks, regular and stacked wilds, free spins with multipliers, and the Link & Win respins.
Links of Fire Betting and Prizes
Starting off with a $0.20 minimum, the slot will let you change the amount as needed, with a maximum of $20 being allowed.
Given the $20 max bet, a top jackpot of $500,000 would mean that you get the wager back at a 25,000x multiple. The way to get there would include the free spins and their 2x multiplier, but also the Link & Win feature that may be triggered inside. Mixing a Grand Jackpot worth up to 5,000x the stake, with other jackpots and cash prizes, and also the free spins rewards could get you to that kind of impressive level.
I would mention that the game has high volatility, so don’t expect to have an easy time with it. On the other hand, there is also a 96.20% RTP, so at least you know that you’re not going short.
Slot Features
Whenever you see the Links of Fire logo on the reels, it’s going to be both the top-paying symbol and the slot’s wild. The substitution ability comes in handy quite often, but it’s even better when you can get multiple wilds on a line, forming their own wins. They pay up to 25x the stake then (compared with a regular symbol, which pays 7.5x at most).
There is a random modifier as well, called Power Stacks. It will turn regular symbols into super-stacked versions, present on all reels. I would’ve loved if the wilds or scatters were affected as well, but they’re not.
Whenever 3-5 scatters appear in view, the game grants you 15 free spins and a 2x multiplier to use on all wins (even fixed jackpots and bonus games triggered inside). Another bonus is that there are now stacked wilds present, rather than regular ones. Their wins pay 2x more as well, so at this point, you can get 2,000x the stake from a single free spin.
For many, the main special feature would be Link & Win, with its respins. You first need 6+ Coin symbols that appear on the reels in random locations. This makes them sticky, and then 3 respins follow. If you can bring more Coins on the reels during those respins, the number of rounds will reset.
There are a total of 20 symbol positions, and you try to get as many as possible before you run out of respins. If you have all Coins, then the Grand Jackpot of up to 5,000x the stake is paid, in addition to prizes of up to 30x coming from regular Coins, and the smaller fixed jackpots that can also be uncovered.
Theme & Design
You are going to have a classic fruit theme in this one, and with a bit of fire added as well. That’s not unusual at all, this type of design is easy to find in a slot machine these days.
At first, you have four lower value icons, with the card suits. You then move on to icons with a pair of dice, Bar logo, Cherry, Gold Bell, Red Seven, and feature symbols (Star scatter, Coin, Game Logo Wild).
Conclusion
Links of Fire looks like it’s going to be a solid slot machine, and a lot of its appeal comes from the excellent top jackpot and features. The theme and graphics don’t contribute much though.
