Jester Wheel Slot Machine: Review & Demo

Jester Wheel Slot Demo

Jester Wheel’s release is made possible by Games Global (taking over Microgaming’s platform), but you will find that the actual design was made by Rabcat. The developer made itself well known through a series of unique slot machines, like the Castle Builder series, but they’re going back to the roots with Jester Wheel, delivering a classic mix of symbols for its reels.

The setup available in Jester Wheel is a common one, with 5x3 reels and only 25 paylines. You can win a decent amount, up to $268,250, but that is only 2,146x the stake, so there is a disconnect there between the slot’s potential and it's high volatility. I do like the 96.49% RTP though. Watch out for special feature symbols, such as scatters or Jester Wilds, and take advantage of the free spins or the Jester Wheel and the various modifiers that trigger through it.

Jester Wheel Betting and Prizes

You’re setting up a bet per line in this case, so whatever number you pick will be multiplied by 25. With coins between $0.01 and $5, the total amount spent per spin is between $0.25 and $125.

Jester Wheel can end up paying a decent chunk of change, but if you look at the actual returns you see only 2,146x the stake coming back to you, at best. Still, with the right wager, you’re looking at prizes going as high as $268,250.

This is considered a highly volatile slot machine, which does come with an above-average RTP of 96.49%, so it’s to be appreciated for that.

Slot Features

Among the symbols that you’re going to get on the reels, the Jester Wild is one that stands out. As a substitute, it’s going to be combined with regular symbols and will make smaller wins possible. That’s not all it does though. Should up to five Jester Wilds land on the same line, they can get you paid themselves, as much as 24x the stake (600x for a screen covered with wilds, same as the Diamond top symbol).

The other feature symbols that you should watch out for, is the Bonus symbol, a scatter.

If you get just 2 scatters, you’re going to receive access to a Jester Wheel, which you spin to obtain one of the four possible modifiers. A single bonus spin is used with that modifier active.

  • Jester Burst: between 2 and 6 wilds are randomly scattered on the reels.
  • Jester Reel: up to 3 reels are covered by wilds.
  • Jester Mirror: wins can form both ways, and the 3rd reel becomes wild.
  • Jester Trail: adds a wild in a random position, and up to 4 extra are created on a random path.

With 3 scatters visible, you get access to 8 Jester Free Spins instead. Once again, one of the four modifiers mentioned above will be active and guaranteed for every single round.

If a single scatter lands during the free spins, you get a Multiplier Wheel to spin. This applies a random multiplier to the current round’s wins, between 2x and 10x.

Theme & Design

While the features don’t have much in common with the classics, the design is all about symbols that you’d recognize immediately. Quality-wise, they’ve done just fine here, so at least it doesn’t look like a slot that’s decades old.

Regular symbols begin with the image of a Lemon, move on to Cherries, and then to Four-leaf clovers, Bar logo, Gold Bars, Red Seven, Bell, and the top-paying Diamond. Special icons include the Jester Wild and the Bonus scatter.

Conclusion

Overall, the Jester Wheel slot by Rabcat is going to be an adequate choice for a player that enjoys modern features, because it gives us just that. I would’ve liked a better top prize for that kind of high volatility, but the RTP proves that there are no shenanigans going on, it’s just the way its math model was built.
