Hyper Star Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Hyper Star is going to show up in the coming months, as a Microgaming exclusive slot that was designed by Gameburger Studios. We’ve seen a number of other collaborations from the two companies in recent years, and they’ve been decent overall.
5x3 reels and 243 ways to win are deployed in Hyper Star. With their help, the slot can pay as much as 7,250x the stake, though the cost is high volatility. Luckily, it still has an acceptable RTP, at 96.05%. Among its features, you’re going to find wilds, scatters, free spins, cascading reels, and multipliers.
Hyper Star Betting and Prizes
You can get away with a wager as low as $0.20, you’re still going to have full access to Hyper Star’s entire game area. If you can afford it, you can also go up to $40 with your bets.
Ultimately, players of Hyper Star can claim rewards of up to 7,250x the stake in a single round. It’s not the biggest top jackpot around, especially as the volatility is expected to be high.
Its RTP is at 96.05%, so at least we know that it’s fair overall. The thing is, some casinos may use a lower RTP setting, and so that’s something to check out before you start playing.
Slot Features
Once you form winning combinations, using the 243 ways to win at your disposal, you get additional chances to get paid, thanks to the Rolling Reels. Not only will these remove winning symbols, so that others may come in, but there is a boost to the multiplier for the next wave of combinations. You can get boosts to wins by up to 5x during free spins, and as high as 15x once the free spins come around.
Some help will come via wilds, fairly limited ones if we’re talking just about their substitution ability. These show up on the reels 2-4, and they help from there.
The jackpot feature can be triggered at the end of a round where you had at least one wild show up. It’s not guaranteed though. One of three jackpots is awarded through this feature, paying up to 5,000x the stake.
Anywhere from 8 to 32 free games are claimed when you get 3+ scatters with the feature’s own logo. You can retrigger them, and you also benefit from tripled multipliers, so instead of 1x to 5x like in the base game, you get 3x to 15x here. Additional wilds are also present on the reels.
Theme & Design
Hyper Star features a casino theme, the sort of thing that you see in slot machines that are dedicated to Las Vegas. It’s bright and filled with energy, with lights added to everything, from the jackpot meter to the reel decorations, and even some of the symbols. It’s going to be the sort of modern design that you’d expect, but there is no actual story or extra thought put into it, it’s generic.
The initial four symbols, of the lowest value, show off card suits that are made out of gems. You can then get a mix of premium symbols, including the Seven, Dollar Sign, Casino Chip, Bells, and Dice. Feature logos and Star wilds are there as well.
Conclusion
Overall, I feel like Hyper Star can be an adequate choice for a lot of players, just because it has the right payouts, RTP, and features that are powerful. It’s not an exciting slot machine though, everything inside is available elsewhere as well.
