Golden Hook Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Golden Hook arrives via Microgaming and Crazy Tooth Studio, one of their many joint collaborations. It’s not exactly a slot machine, but it should be fun anyway, particularly for those that find a version with the highest RTP active. Fishing-themed, it places the player on the deck of a boat, and from there the fun can begin. More on how that works, below.
You’re going to discover that the game allows you to set out lures so that you can catch fish. There will be no reels or lines here though. Using the game’s mechanics, you will discover that you can claim top rewards of up to 3,082x the stake. The RTP will go as high as 96.75%, but lower versions are also included. Overall, the volatility is expected to be Medium. Though not exactly a slot, it’s still going to come with several features, including up to 10x multipliers and a Golden Hook bonus among them.
Golden Hook Slot Betting and Prizes
The wager selection is possible within the range provided, which goes from $0.20 to a maximum bet of $40.
As for the rewards that you could claim inside, 3,082x the stake is the most that Golden Hook will pay. Given the wagers that are allowed, a player could win up to $123,280 cash from this game.
I found that the rewards match the risk you’re taking in Golden Hook. Medium volatility describes the experience you’re likely to have, with a good balance between risk and prize sizes.
The RTP is going to vary, with several settings available, but the highest one is the value I’d recommend since it’s at 96.75%.
Features
The game area includes a fishing rod and a meter, the latter being included in the ship’s wheel. You go from the red section of the meter to the blue one, as you cast the lure into the water. Get a fish from that cast, and you will get your chance at a prize and features. About 2 out of 5 rounds will bring you a fish, and a prize.
Once a fish is caught, you need to bring it in. You keep pressing on the button that will bring that fish, and for as long as you do so, the prize goes up. However, at some point, the line could break, and you could lose that fish and its cash prize. You need to control your greed and Collect the money.
Multipliers could apply to those prizes, boosting values by 2x to 10x. It’s a random event.
If you catch the Golden Fish, then you get a bonus game. It will collect fish prizes and 2x multiplier crabs until you have no more time.
Theme & Design
You’re shown on the deck of a boat, as you’re fishing. The fishing rod is in front of you, with the ocean’s waters hiding the many fish that you’re about to catch. It’s a fun design for anyone that’s into fishing, but obviously, there is not much in common with a slot machine design-wise.
Conclusion
Golden Hook looks like a fun one to try out, a similar release to The Incredible Balloon Machine. It’s a different theme though, and as there are a lot of anglers out there, I’d recommend it for those that love this sport.
