Gold Collector: Diamond Edition Slot Machine: Review & Demo
It’s been only one year since the original Gold Collector was released, and we’re looking at a sequel now, which adds a sixth fixed jackpot, the Diamond. It’s a slot machine that was launched by Microgaming, and it was designed for them by All41 Studios. Gold Collector: Diamond Edition has excellent rewards as well, much better than those offered in the first game, but the cost is an increased volatility level, as you’re about to learn.
Gold Collector: Diamond Edition comes up with 5x4 reels, and there are 50 paylines active in that area. It improves on the original’s rewards, paying up to 5,200x the stake, but there is high volatility as well. Its RTP is fine though, at the same 96.40% as the first game. Among its features, you will discover wild, scatters, free spins, and Hold & Win respins.
Diamond Edition Slot Betting and Prizes
The bets allowed in Gold Collector: Diamond Edition can go from a minimum of $0.10, all the way up to $40 per spin.
The highest potential comes from the Hold & Win respins, where the Diamond Jackpot can be claimed, with a value of 5,000x the stake. Taking into account everything else that the slot can throw at you, wins of up to 5,200x the stake are entirely possible.
While you can get better rewards than in the first slot, the volatility has also gone up, from a medium to a high. It’s riskier to play for the average player, though its RTP can be just fine, going up to 96.40% (it’s part of an RTP range though).
Features
One of the slot’s features takes the form of a Wild logo, in gold and set against a piece of wood. Though present only on the middle three reels, it acts as a substitute from there, and it can be helpful when you’re forming new winning combinations. It doesn’t replace any of the feature symbols though, only regular ones.
The second feature symbol, the scatter, will show up on those same middle reels, and it will include the image of Dynamite in it. Get those at the same time, and you receive 10 free spins. They’re not typical free spins though. You get dynamite to uncover what’s hidden below the symbol positions, and you receive prizes from them. The top of the reels will hold certain fixed jackpots, and you claim them when you uncover all positions in that column.
For most, it’s the Hold & Win respins that will be the real target here. It’s the feature that can deliver the Diamond Jackpot, worth 5,000x the stake by itself. Getting inside requires 3+ Diamonds or Coins to land. You start with 3 respins, and the number resets whenever a new symbol lands in the available positions.
The Coins and Diamonds that show up will be sticky, and each one will have a certain amount to pay. The Diamond is also collected in its own jackpot meter, and with 5 you can claim the big prize.
Theme & Design
The graphics of Gold Collector: Diamond Edition have largely remained the same, so there is no big improvement there. It looks like any average gold mining slot machine, though the gold nugget has been replaced with the diamond now.
Among its symbols, you will discover the low-value Royals, followed by images of shovels, pick axe, oil lanterns, mining carts, and the miner himself. Wilds, scatters, coins, will also be present.
Conclusion
Overall, Gold Collector: Diamond Edition feels like an improvement over the original slot machine, though due to its high volatility it might not target the same players. If you can stomach that extra risk, and you enjoyed the first game, then it’s worth checking this one out as well.
