God of Fire Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Designed by Northern Lights Gaming, God of Fire will be coming to Microgaming casinos in the months that follow, and it will be an exciting one to look into. The never-ending race, to offer more ways to win and bigger rewards, is one that I’m loving, and this is a slot machine that’s adding its own version to it. It’s got UltraWays, a simple enough system, but coupled with a theme related to deities of Ancient Greece, and with decent potential to pay.
God of Fire offers as many as 60 million ways to win, though to start with you’re looking at 5x3 reels and 243 ways to win. There are regular and Exploding Wilds, scatters, free spins with multipliers and other modifiers, and Super Free Spins that could multiply wins by up to 20x. The ultimate target is set on a jackpot that will return 18,000x the stake to you, but with its high volatility rating, the slot is not going to make it easy. RTP can be fine, at 96.02%, but it depends on the setting selected in the RTP range that the developer provides.
God of Fire Betting and Prizes
Once you select the wager, you can start playing God of Fire, with all the ways to win that will activate for you. It goes from $0.10 to $50, a decent range that lets anyone give it a shot.
Should the best case scenario happen, a jackpot of 18,000x the stake could be won in God of Fire. Not easy perhaps, but with so many ways to win, and up to 20x multipliers during Super Free Spins, it’s a possibility.
I should also mention the game’s high volatility, though the RTP can be at 96.02% (lower RTP values are also available for operators to choose from).
Slot Features
God of Fire uses a system where regular symbols can also land in versions with 2 to 4 icons, all showing up in the same position on the reels. As you get more symbols per reel, the number of ways to win will get a boost.
Regular wilds are going to be used as replacement symbols, when landing next to enough regulars to contribute.
The other wild is the one you really want though, as a Blue Wild triggers its own feature. It’s an Exploding Wild, that will transform into up to 4 regular wilds. This adds to the ways to win, and also boosts the number of winning combinations that the wild will be a part of.
The Wreath scatter can be useful when you get it 2 or more times, though you need 3 or more for a guaranteed access to the free spins. If it’s just 2 scatters, then you collect it as a Near-Miss, and eventually it will lead to the Super Free Spins.
The regular free spins come with up to 5 lives, depending on the number of triggering scatters. The lives are used up when Skulls show up on reel 5, and you can get more if Hearts land on that same column.
Three types of modifiers can trigger at any point, during free spins. They can bring multipliers of up to 10x for all wins, symbols can be upgraded to Ultraways, or you can get Exploding Wilds to appear.
As for the Super Free Spins, their advantage is that you get up to 20x multipliers. To trigger them, you need to get 60 Near-Misses, so that’s how many times you need to get just 2 scatters on the reels.
Theme & Design
God of Fire’s inspiration comes from Ancient Greece’s legends, and from one of its gods in particular. Hephaestus actually appears both on and next to the reels, and the fire side of him can be seen in the flames that are incorporated in the background.
Its symbols range from flame-style Royals, to images of helmets, urns, marble pillars, and the God of Fire himself. I’ve seen better-looking games, even from Microgaming, so while in other areas they might’ve done great, this side of the slot is not exactly impressive.
Conclusion
God of Fire joins the fray, and is now one of the many high volatility options available to players, a slot with a huge potential when it comes to ways to win. It even has jackpots to match, though at 18,000x the stake, I think it could’ve done even better with all those ways to win.
