Fortune Rush Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Pulse 8 Studios and Microgaming have been working on a new slot machine together, and it’s called Fortune Rush. Designed for the Chinese market, it’s going to bring all the usual legendary creatures that games from this region typically sport. Ranging from dragons to local birds, these are symbols that get an additional role inside, as one is always selected to bring on additional features. More on how that works, in our review.
5x3 reels, with a total of 243 ways to win, that’s a common type of setup these days. Slot machines tend to be much more volatile right now, but Fortune Rush goes the other way and makes the experience less risky and accessible. The medium volatility reduces the potential of the game though, so at most, you can claim 1,880x the stake (meaning up to $243,000 cash), while the RTP is at 96.08%. Its special features rely on the wild, Rush symbols with respins, and the Lucky Draw respins.
Fortune Rush Slot Betting and Prizes
$0.25 is a low enough wager, most players will be able to use it, particularly in a slot machine where the risk is not very high. There are wagers for high rollers as well since up to $125 can be spent on each round.
The top payout in Fortune Rush will potentially mean up to $243,000. Those using the maximum bet will be able to claim that much, the round’s stake coming back at a multiple of 1,880x. Landing the top symbol on all 15 positions gets you 243 combinations of 8x the stake each, and that explains the jackpot.
It’s not a very risky game to play, and the Medium volatility rating tells us that. The RTP looks fine also, and at 96.08% it’s about what you’d expect from a modern slot.
Features
A slot’s most common feature is going to be the wild, as there are a lot more games that use it, than those that don’t. In this case, it’s shown as the Fortune Rush logo, and the wild can be used as a replacement for any regular icon, as long as it’s not currently selected to act as the Rush symbol.
Otherwise, most of the action revolves around the Rush system, which picks one of the premium symbols and gives it this extra role for the next 20 rounds. You need to get them on as many reels as possible, in a single round, to trigger additional features.
One is the Respin feature, which requires that you get 3 or more Rush symbols on as many reels. It will lock the Rush positions and will respin to the other reels, trying to get you more. Respins continue, for as long as you keep getting new symbols of this type on the other reels.
The 20th round will bring you a guaranteed 3 Rush symbols, on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th columns.
Lucky Draw is the name of the main feature, and to access it you will need the Rush symbols on all 5 reels. It starts with 3 Respins, and the initial Rush symbols are sticky. As you go through Respins, and you get more Rush symbols, those become locked as well, and the number of remaining rounds will reset back to 3. Once the feature is over, you get paid, and at this point, you could get up to 1,880x the stake if you form combinations on all ways to win (if you have 15 Rush symbols and they’re of the highest value possible).
Theme & Design
Fortune Rush delivers the classic Chinese theme, using the legendary creatures from their stories, for its main symbols. The graphics are alright, without being too impressive. We see a list that starts with 5 jade-colored Royals, and then we get the premium symbols, which show us Purple Birds, Blue Fish, Green Toads, Golden Lions, and Red Dragons.
Conclusion
Fortune Rush looks alright, but don’t expect anything spectacular from it. It’s designed to be interesting for a lot of different players, from casual to advanced.
