Book of Captain Silver Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Book of Captain Silver gives you an idea about how it will work, right from the title. The Book-style category is one that’s filled with slot machines that have similar mechanics to the ones implemented in this one, but I will give it credit for the pirate theme that they’ve implemented inside, it’s different from what most category titles will give us. It’s a slot machine that will be part of Microgaming’s slot collection, and it was designed by All41 Studios.
You will have 5x3 reels, along with the standard 10 lines that we typically see in these slots. A jackpot of up to 10,000x the stake is possible, which is impressive, since it goes beyond what the typical Book game will pay. It’s still highly volatile, and the RTP looks good at 96.40%. Add the various features involved, mostly the mixed wild/scatters and the free spins with expanding symbols, and you get yourself a standard Book slot. The one thing that’s extra, is the Jackpot Wheel.
Book of Captain Silver Betting and Prizes
You will have a betting range of $0.10 to $25, from which you can choose a value that you want to use for your gaming session.
The rewards look great, provided that you’re checking out the Mega Jackpot, fixed at 10,000x the stake and delivered via a special Jackpot Wheel. The regular wins are standard though, paying 500x the stake per line, and 5,000x the stake per spin.
It remains a highly volatile option, but you will also find that the RTP is very good, at 96.40%.
Slot Features
Book-style slots tend to copy the same features as the original title offered. I’m talking about the Book that acts as the wild and the scatter, depending on circumstances. It can be a wild for symbols found on the same lines as it is, but when it pays it does so as a scatter (up to 200x the stake paid for up to 5 Book symbols).
You also get to use it as a scatter when triggering the free spins, as the game gives you 10 rounds in exchange for 3+ symbols. At this point, the game selects a random regular symbol, to give it the ability to expand on its reel. As long as you get 3 reels with these symbols, you will form combinations on all 10 lines. Special symbols will pay based on their number, as scatters, so they don’t need to be in fixed positions on those lines.
There is something extra as well, a Jackpot Wheel that can trigger at random, provided that you’ve gotten and collected wild symbols. It’s not guaranteed to come, but there is a chance, and it’s one you should want to get. It will grant access to one of the four fixed jackpots, ranging from the Mini (15x the stake), to Minor (50x), Major (500x), and Mega (10,000x).
Theme & Design
Book of Captain Silver gives us a pirate theme, there isn’t anything more special than that. It’s showing us the inside of the ship, with a treasure chest opened up at the bottom, for you to collect wilds in. The reels are wood-made, and filled with either Royals, or images of a compass, a pistol, pirate ship, or the Book of Captain Silver. A pretty good design, but we’ve definitely seen better slot machines with pirate themes around.
Conclusion
Book of Captain Silver will offer us something extra compared to a lot of other Book slots, but whether the pirate theme and the fixed jackpot will be enough to convince you to try it out, that’s entirely up to you.
