Aztec Falls Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Designed by Northern Lights Gaming, Aztec Falls is going to be a slot machine with an obvious theme, taking us to South America and allowing us to explore one of the region’s great ancient civilizations. Microgaming gets this new game exclusively, but this only means that there will be hundreds of popular casinos where you can find it.
5x3 reels are spinning each round, and winning combinations will form on up to 20 paylines. Aztec Falls has the ability to pay quite well, offering prizes of up to 5,000x the stake in one round, while maintaining the RTP at 96.08% in the long run. The medium volatility rating helps it as well, since plenty of players wants a shot at a big prize, without the high risk that’s typically attached. There should be plenty of great features for you to explore as well, ranging from random modifiers to wilds, multipliers, respins, free spins, stacked symbols, or the Jackpot Wheel.
Aztec Falls Slot Betting and Prizes
A complete betting range of $0.20 to $40 is available in Aztec Falls. This allows the player to spend anywhere from $0.01 to $2, on each line.
Considering the volatility of the slot, which is described as medium, I’m quite satisfied with the potential rewards that Aztec Falls can deliver. Using the Jackpot Wheel, you will be able to claim a reward of 5,000x the stake (at max bet this means $200,000 cash). The regular rewards can be OK as well, but even with up to 5x multipliers applied, a single round doesn’t appear to be able to pay more than 1,000x the stake (and you’d need wilds covering all reels).
It’s also worth looking into the game’s average returns since you can tell if it’s fair or not. Aztec Falls does fine there, and it's 96.08% RTP has an above-average value.
Features
The most basic of features, a wild symbol, is chosen to deliver some of the best regular prizes that the slot has to offer. 10X the stake can be paid for each combo of up to 5 wilds that form. That will likely be a rare occurrence though, and the most likely event would be to have one or two wilds on an active line, contributing as substitutes to the formation of a new combo. It will assist lower-value regular symbols, and it can still get you paid in this manner. One of the most common and popular features of all time.
By landing scatter symbols with the Coin, which is possible only on the 5th reel, you can get a random modifier to trigger (not guaranteed though). The coin drops and touches other symbols on its way down. As it reaches the bottom, it falls in a slot, and grants the modifier mentioned there.
Via the Coin Drop, you could get a multiplier of 2x-5x applied to all wins of the round, but you can also get a respin where the symbols land stacked wilds, or the main feature (Jackpot Wheel).
Should the Jackpot Wheel trigger for you, expect a Wheel that will spin. There are four types of prizes on it, and the lower the value, the higher the odds that you will get it. With the lowest odds, the best prize, would be the Mega Jackpot (5,000x the stake).
A Cash Fall is a random event, which will drop coins to the bottom, and will get you paid as much as 10x the stake through each one.
Finally, there is only one more major feature here, and to reach it you will need to have 3 scatters on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th reels. The Pyramid scatters are the ones required there, and their presence will lead to 5 free games. A random reel will receive a sticky stacked wild each round until the feature is over (you can’t retrigger it).
Theme & Design
It’s a common theme, and we’ve seen dozens of Aztec-inspired designs in the past, but this one has its own charm. It sort of looks like a land-based slot machine, thanks to the way it was built, made out of stone.
The symbols do incorporate a variety of Royal's, but there are some themed ones as well (Coins, Idols, Pyramids).
Conclusion
Overall, I found Aztec Falls to be quite enjoyable. With medium volatility, a top jackpot of 5,000x, and a long list of special features, I think you might feel the same way.
