Arctic Enchantress Slot Machine: Review & Demo
It’s part of the Microgaming slot collection, but the game was actually developed by Neon Valley Studios for them. It’s called Arctic Enchantress, and it will come with the Link & Win mechanic that we’re finding in quite a few of the latest Microgaming exclusives. For this particular game, they chose a theme that’s inspired by a frozen kingdom and a sorceress that lives there. Overall, I think you’re going to enjoy this one, so keep reading to find out why.
Arctic Enchantress will come with 5x3 reels, and you will discover 243 ways to win on them. The slot machine’s best rewards look adequate, going as high as 5,416x the stake, while the RTP is set to 96.10%. From the Link & Win respins, to wilds, or free spins with nudging wilds, there should be several interesting features for you inside.
Arctic Enchantress Slot Betting and Prizes
Your wager in Arctic Enchantress can be very low, $0.20 being the minimum amount allowed per spin, but it can also go quite a bit higher, to $50.
There is the option of selecting a Win Booster, which adds 50% to the bet ($0.30 to $75), but in exchange the odds of triggering the bonus feature are higher (you start with 1 Orb already collected).
The combination of Very High volatility, with a top payout of only 5,416x the stake, is not one that will go well with most players. The cash value that they have the cap at, is $270,825.
A 96.10% RTP is available, and it should be a fine long-term return, about average for the industry.
Features
Arctic Enchantress comes with a variety of features, but the main one is the Link & Win. It requires the collection of Ice Orbs from the reels, 6 being needed at the same time, in order to trigger the respins. The meter is shown at the top, and you can start off with 1 orb already filled in, if you choose the Win Booster bet (50% extra bet). Up to 14 Orbs will be possible, when triggering this feature. If you get all 15, then you fill the reels and you get the Mega Jackpot immediately.
Once it gets going, the feature gives you 3 respins, along with the triggering symbols that become sticky. You try to get more Orbs, and the number of respins reset when this happens. At the end of the feature, you get paid by each Orb, and there are several fixed jackpots that could be claimed through special Orbs.
Fill a column with Orbs, and the Column Boost mechanic kicks in, giving you better prizes for the occupied positions on that reel.
Other than this big feature, the slot also uses wild symbols, the ones showing the Enchantress. These are stacked, so they can take over entire reels.
Randomly, you may benefit from a Wild Nudge, which pushes a stacked wild into position, to occupy all available spots from their column.
The only other feature, will bring you 10 to 20 free spins, whenever you have 3 to 5 scatters visible. You can then retrigger the feature in the same manner. The stacked wilds will always be nudged into position in this mode.
Theme & Design
It’s a story that involves magic in the Arctic region, with an Enchantress in the main role, and with a number of Arctic creatures or ice-covered objects. I’m talking about the Polar Bear, Arctic Fox, Arctic Owl, Ice-covered Red Rose, and Snowy Pine Cone. Four elaborate Royals are found in the lesser positions.
Conclusion
Arctic Enchantress does deliver a lot of interesting features, but they’re not unique, it’s a blend that borrows from a lot of other slot machines that Microgaming has in its collection. Even with the reduced top jackpot, the game could be worth checking out.
