Alice in WildLand Slot Machine: Review & Demo
The new slot that Microgaming is working on, Alice in WildLand, is designed to cover a theme that has fascinated players and developers alike. There are already a lot of other examples of games that are based on the work of Lewis Carroll, but Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland continues to be the basis for a lot of excellent slots. Good graphics, higher volatility, but with big rewards as well, it’s the type of game that you’d expect an experienced player to want to try.
Alice in WildLand gives us 2 sets of 5x3 reels, and each one has 20 active lines (40 lines total). You can get access to the Cheshire Multipliers, stacked wilds, and free spins. Get them at the right time, and you could get close to the 12,000x top jackpot that the game is offering. It’s got medium to high volatility, but the RTP is alright, at 96.37%.
Alice in WildLand Betting and Prizes
You get two sets of reels at the same time, but you place the wager for both of them. It’s a range that starts from a $0.20 minimum, and could reach a maximum at $30.
Alice in WildLand can pay quite well, and 12,000x the stake is nothing to sneeze at, even these days. At the same time, you can’t have big rewards without additional risk, so the volatility of this game is medium to high. What matters, is that in the long run it has a good RTP, at 96.37%.
Slot Features
Two sets of 5x3 reels are used, at the top and bottom, and each one forms its own combinations, via the 20 lines present in each case. A total of 40 lines are active each round. There are ways in which the two sets can influence each other, as you’re about to find out.
The Cheshire Cat will be one of the feature symbols present in this slot machine. You get it stacked, so while it’s not guaranteed to cover a full reel, it typically takes over more than 1 symbol position when it lands. Of course, this is a substitute symbol, that will help form more regular combinations.
One of the interesting features that the game offers, is called Copycat Wilds. It requires a stacked wild landing fully visible, so occupying the 3 positions of its reel. If that happens, it is transferred to the same reel on the other set as well, so both get one or more wild reels.
If you get the stacked wild to cover the same reel on both sets, at the same time, you trigger another feature, called Cheshire Multipliers. For each reel that is wild on both sets, you get a multiplier that could be as high as 10x. If several wild reels do this on both sets, then the value of the multipliers gets added together for a bigger boost to wins.
As for the free spins, these can trigger by mixing scatter symbols from both sets. 3 to 6 scatters, will get you 10 to 50 games for free. Nudges are available for the stacked wilds, so they always cover the full reel, making it easier to get the other features as well.
Theme & Design
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a great story, and one that has inspired many over the years, including developers working on new slot machines. We see one of those games here, designed around the weird and wonderful universe that Lewis Carroll created.
For its symbols, there are images of the card suits initially, along with the toadstools, cake, potions, the rabbit, the caterpillar, and Alice. Feature symbols give us the Cheshire Cat and a Pocket Watch.
Conclusion
