9 Wiggly Worms Slot Machine: Review & Demo
9 Wiggly Worms is the first slot machine of a brand new developer called Wishbone. They’ve partnered with Games Global right out of the gate, so they get a head start over many other developers. This slot will be available as an exclusive at Games Global, and based on what I’m seeing inside, they do get some things right, and it’s worth checking out.
You’re going to find a setup with 5 reels and 20 paylines. There is nothing unusual there, or about the 2,000x jackpot, but the high volatility does raise an eyebrow at that low prize. The high hit rate and the 96.24% help make the slot machine much more palatable. Several features, such as a Worm Collection system, wilds, or free spins, are deployed inside.
9 Wiggly Worms Betting and Prizes
The amount you can wager starts from just $0.20 and could be increased to $120.
If there is one thing that I really don’t like about 9 Wiggly Worms, it is the size of its top jackpot. 2,000x the stake may mean up to $240,000, but for its higher volatility, I’d want better rewards. On the other hand, the hit rate is very high, about 40%, and the 96.24% RTP is another thing pointing to a fair release.
Slot Features
First, check out the W logo, which is the slot’s wild. You may use it to replace any regular symbols attempting to create winning combinations.
There are also worms that may appear on the reels as symbols, and they serve as scatters paying the Epic Strike-style jackpot. It’s a mechanic found at many Games Global exclusives, and in this case, you get paid up to 2,000x the stake if you have up to 9 of these wiggly worms on the reels.
The hammer scatters have a different role to play. You use these when they land three times, as this grants you access to a bonus feature deciding what the free spins will look like. You play a strongman game as you would see at a county fair, and the strikes can deliver up to 30 free spins and multipliers going up to 3x.
Theme & Design
As the worms are the stars, the action of the slot machine will take us underground. There are roots and holes in the ground visible behind the reels, and fresh grass from the top is also barely visible. The reels get the worms as scatters, the hammers, or the W logos, and then there are also regular symbols showing treasure chests, several Sevens, Bar logos, bells, or cherries.
Conclusion
I’m a fan of the Epic Strike jackpot and the easy way it delivers big prizes, but the limits of 9 Wiggly Worms are lower than I’d like to see, especially since it’s highly volatile. That being said, the RTP is at the right level, so it’s just a matter of the way its prizes are distributed.
