25000 Talons Slot Machine: Review & Demo

Alchemy Gaming has designed a brand new slot for Microgaming’s casinos, and they’ve called it 25000 Talons. You could be forgiven, if your excitement about winning talons wasn’t at the highest possible levels, but luckily they’re signaling the kind of returns which are possible (25,000x the stake), rather than the type of prize offered. I think you’re going to be a fan of the features which are included in particular, but I will let you discover for yourself what’s being offered here.

25000 Talons might not seem like the most generous slot machine at first, especially since only 10 paylines are deployed on its 5 reels. Still, as the features can help out quite a bit, a single free spin could pay up to 500x the stake, while the bonus game could bring a Mega Prize worth 25,000x the stake. I’d mention its main features as well, especially its wilds, the use of giant symbols on certain reels, along with scatters, free spins, Fire Trail symbols, Fire Spins, and a Bonus Wheel.

25000 Talons Betting and Prizes

You could end up spending as much as $20 on each spin of 25000 Talons, but that’s just the upper limit. The minimum required for a spin is going to be $0.10.

25000 Talons has decent rewards, particularly during its Wheel Bonus. Four fixed jackpots can be claimed there, ranging from 20x to 25,000x the stake (Mega Prize). Even its regular spins look good, with combinations formed out of wilds alone paying as much as 50x on each line, or 500x total (the free spins make it much easier for this to happen).

For every Microgaming slot machine we’ve seen lately, there is an RTP range to consider, and so you always need to be aware of the value used for the game that you’re using. In this case, I recommend looking for a version that has a 96.38% RTP, the highest one possible.

Slot Features

As I usually do, I will start with the Wild, the industry’s most common feature. Here, we’re seeing it used as a replacement, as a way to form new winning combinations, and as part of the Fire Trail. This means that you will sometimes see it stacked on certain reels, and taking the form of giant 3x3 symbols on others. Either way, it’s the slot’s best symbol.

The Fire Trail is the one you see on the left, with the four premium symbols mentioned on it, and with the W logo at the top. It is used in several features.

First, let’s check out the randomly triggered Fire Spin. It’s going to pick one of the Fire Trail symbols, making it cover the first two reels. Next, for one spin, you get giant symbols on reels 3-5, showing either wilds, premium icons, or a Bonus Wheel. The aim is to get the Bonus Wheel fully visible (3x3 positions), so that you trigger its feature.

If the Wheel Bonus is triggered, you’re getting a spin on a wheel, and you claim one of four fixed jackpots from it. The best one is the Mega Prize, valued at 25,000x the stake.

The only other major feature implemented in 25000 Talons, will consist of free spins. The number and type depends on both the triggering scatters (3, 4, or 5 symbols will get you different numbers of spins) and on the version that you choose:

• 4, 6, or 8 Bear Free Spins;
• 6, 8, or 10 Bison Free Spins;
• 8, 10, or 12 Cougar Free Spins.

Depending on the version of the free spins you’ve chosen, there will be a different Fire Trail animal used to show up fully stacked on the 1st and 2nd reels. The other three reels spin with Level Up symbols, premium symbols, and wilds, all of them sized at 3x3 (giant symbols).

Ideally, you want Level Up symbols as often as possible, as these will give you 4 free spins, and will also upgrade the Fire Trail symbol. You could end up with Fire Trail Wilds that cover all symbol positions on those two reels. Land giant wilds on the last three reels as well, and getting paid up to 500x the stake per free spin is a possibility.

Theme & Design

Theme-wise, you’re looking at typical graphics in a slot machine. Dozens and dozens of North American wildlife themed games have already been launched over the years, so that part doesn’t impress. The symbols look like regular ones as well, giving us images of Jack to Ace Royals, a cougar, the buffalo, bears, eagles, and then the feature symbols (W as the wild, and a Gold Eagle as a scatter).

Conclusion

25000 Talons manages to look fairly impressive, better than the average slot from Microgaming’s collection, particularly so if it’s the features that we’re looking at. I’m a fan of its top jackpot as well.
