11 Coins of Fire Slot Machine: Review & Demo
11 Coins of Fire continues in the same line as a few other slot machines that we’ve seen in Microgaming’s collection lately, and I’m referring to the inclusion of the Epic Strike jackpot in particular. All41 Studios is the name of the developer that has worked on this particular game, which is exclusive to Microgaming casinos. The Nordic theme could be one of the appealing things about it, along with its top prizes and several good features.
There will be 25 paylines available, in a game area with 5x3 reels. Using its most powerful, and yet very simple feature, 11 Coins of Fire can pay 10,000x the stake (up to $250,000). With the RTP going as high as 96.40%, that sort of makes up for the high volatility of the slot. A couple of features that I’d like to mention, would be its wild, scatters, free spins, and the Treasure Pick.
11 Coins of Fire Betting and Prizes
A wager placed in 11 Coins of Fire is going to be similar to what you have to use in other slots, so $0.20 will be enough to activate it. If you want to spend more, that’s also possible, and the max bet is $25.
Those that check out 11 Coins of Fire can win 1,250x the stake at most from regular combinations of wilds if they end up covering all lines (much more likely during free spins, with extra wilds present there). The bigger payout comes from scatters though, 10,000x the stake being paid thanks to the Epic Strike jackpot. With the right bet, that could get you paid up to $250,000.
Most games that will pay above average, will also be riskier than most, and that’s what we see in this case as well. High volatility should be expected. On the other hand, there is a pretty good RTP of 96.40% at the top of the range which operators can choose from. It’s the only one worth using, as the other three are too low.
Slot Features
The top-paying symbol, and also the substitute, is the Wild. You can get up to 5 wilds on the same line, and you’d win 50x the stake each time this happens. Wilds can also assist other symbols in forming their own combinations. You can’t have them act as replacements for scatters.
Free Spins logos will sometimes appear on the middle three reels, so you already know what they’ll do for you. Get 3 on the reels at the same time, and you get 10 free spins. The thing that’s making them better than the paid spins, comes from the 30 to 100 additional wilds which are present on the reels. Land another 3 scatters, and you retrigger the feature.
A very simple feature, but one that’s fairly common in modern Microgaming slots, is the one they call Epic Strike. It’s a series of fixed jackpots, arranged on a ladder on the left side, and they can be claimed just with scatters that land in enough positions at the same time. For the top prize, of 10,000x the stake, you will need 11 of these Gold Coin scatters.
The presence of Gold Coins can also lead to another feature, which gives you another chance at the Epic Strike jackpot. It’s called Treasure Pick, and it will randomly trigger during spins where you have Gold Coins on the reels. In it, you will make your picks from the treasure chests shown, trying to find as many gold coins as possible, before the silver coin is located (ends the feature). With enough coins collected, you will claim the corresponding Epic Strike jackpot, going up to 10,000x.
Theme & Design
While it’s a pretty good design, the Nordic/Viking inspired look of 11 Coins of Fire is not something you couldn’t find somewhere else. It’s got a somber design, with darker colors used both as a backdrop for the symbols, and taking the form of the night’s sky behind the reels.
Four card suit icons are the ones you see at the bottom, after which there are others showing banners, helmets, or arrowheads. The special icons include gold coins, Wild logos, and Free Spins logos.
Conclusion
I’d say that 11 Coins of Fire could prove a solid option for a modern player, that enjoys having good features and big top prizes. There is nothing unique inside, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
